Also the other irrational numbers are what is called algebraic meaning they can be solutions to polynomial equations which have rational coefficients. e and π belong to a special set of irrational numbers known as transcendental numbers which are irrational numbers which are not solutions of algebraic equations. The rest of the transcendental numbers include whole numbers (other than 0 and 1) raised to irrational root powers, e.g. 2^(√2), 3^(√2), 10^√5, etc…
