There is now a general resurgence of the game. This is shown by the overall numbers of people now taking up croquet in the rest of the country and also the amount of coverage being given to the sport in the national press. Schools are also including this as a worthwhile sport to be encouraged and taught. The holiday industry is jumping on the bandwagon by including it in sports holidays as are hotels in using it as a plus in their extra facilities. The National Trust is now hiring out the Croquet Lawns attached to the large houses and estates in its control.
