Why practice mindfulness?

0

The practice of mindfulness can be profoundly transformative and healing, giving rise to greater insight and clarity as well as greater empathy for oneself and others. It has shown to decrease stress and pain levels, and leads to increased ability to relax, greater sense of well-being, improved self-esteem, and an enhanced ability to cope more effectively with challenging situations, both short and long-term. This eight-week course, based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program, will focus on developing a friendlier relationship with the body, opening the mind by becoming more familiar with its processes and patterns, and by doing so, freeing the heart to become more wise.
