Why should musicians and songwriters become members?
First of all, they should be members of every site that they can afford to be on. The web provides all of us the potential to market ourselves, and we should take advantage of that. Broadjam is a musicians’ site. Our customers are musicians; that’s who we service, that’s where our focus is. Independent musicians should be on the internet and not be afraid to “give away” a song or two to promote themselves. One of our members suggested that we allow him to give away his music to anyone who wants it. So we built a mechanism for our members to promote themselves by offering a free song to anyone who wants it. This has created lots of additional downloads and fans for our members. Lastly, do you have any advice for aspiring songwriters? Collaborate! As songwriters, we write our first few songs and we have something that sounds pretty good.
