Why should stakeholder involvement be mainstreamed in Health and Social Care (HSC)?
It is essential that stakeholder involvement is integrated into the everyday planning, provision and evaluation of HSC services. Mainstreaming stakeholder involvement has the potential to help change the culture of HSC. It could, if done properly, be the way that HSC becomes truly centred on what matters to service users. Also, if done well, it could ensure that what patients say makes a real difference to people’s health and lives.
