Be very careful with purchasing the cheap sunglasses. Even though they may look nice most have just a surface coat of UV. After cleaning them several times the UV coat comes off. When you wear dark lenses your pupils enlarge a little bit… so when that UV is wiped off, you’re actually doing more damage to your eyes instead of protecting them. Quality sunglasses purchased at a reputable practice or retail chain have UV soaked into their lenses. It will not fade out or wipe off. Yes all polycarbonate lenses come with UV standard… but if you go polycarbonate definately get polarized to remove glare. If you insist on buying the cheap 5 to 20 dollar sunglasses… at least replace them every couple of months so you’re not exposing your pupils to damaging UV.
