Why some common disciplines are not shown up in the UBP catalogue on the homepage?

It is because the catalogue displayed on the homepage reflects the disciplines of the current repository of Learning Resources, of which the metadata descriptions exist in the UBP. Note also that a Learning Resource can be classified in more than one discipline.
