POlice duties call on you at strange and often long hours, Police officers in the family can simply be away more making it hard for the relationship to flourish leading to divorce. The job of policing also attracts a kind of person that isn’t always the nicest guy or gal, so they simply jsut might be to mean for their spouse to handle.

Ha, look at all of these “aww, feel sorry for the poor cops” answers. What BS. A few are right, though, as I suspect it has something to do with…. — Domestic violence is 2 to 4 times more common in police families than in the general population. In two separate studies, 40% of police officers self-report that they have used violence against their domestic partners within the last year. In the general population, it’s estimated that domestic violence occurs in about 10% of families. http://www.purpleberets.org/violence_pol… —- There you have it. 40% of police openly admit to beating their domestic partner. One can only guess at the percentage that does beat their partner, but doesn’t admit to it.
