Why use paraffin wax, anyway?
Paraffin treatments are a relatively new phenomenon. The idea behind these treatments is twofold. First, they provide soothing heat therapy for your joints. Many people claim that paraffin provides relief from arthritis pain, and that paraffin treatments stimulate circulation. Second, the paraffin seals moisture into your dry spots. The mechanics of using a paraffin bath are rather simple. You plug in the heating apparatus, wait for the wax to melt, quickly dip your hands into the melted wax and repeat 5-6 times, then pull a plastic liner over each hand and relax. After leaving the wax on for 15-20 minutes, you can easily peel it off your hands, apply lotion, and you’re set! Your hands will be noticeably soft.
