Why using NAT affects my online games? Will it affect LAN games?
A. Internet games communicate with each other based on IP addresses and UDP port numbers. Unfortunately some games are such that when Network Address Translation is applied they can no longer communicate with each other due to the side-effect created by NAT. Such games and applications are called NAT unfriendly applications. No, using NAT wont affect games played on the same LAN.
