Trichologists are professionally trained for a minimum of three years in all aspects of hair loss, scalp disease and hair condition issues. Trichologists in full time practice will see both common and unusual conditions on a day to day basis. A person may spend time and money visiting therapists who aren’t experts in this field and still not find a solution to a problem which may be obvious to an experienced Trichologist.A Trichologist is not qualified to diagnose medical disorders but in the process of finding the cause of a hair or scalp problem, you may discover a health issue you have suffered with for years. Many patients have been diagnosed with conditions such as hypothyroidism and pernicious anaemia due to test requests made by a Trichologist.
