Why Volunteer with Ontario March of Dimes?

0

Volunteers are and have always been a vital part of the daily life of Ontario March of Dimes. Almost 18,000 dedicated people across the province help us every year by being a friend to someone with a physical disability, serving on our board or a committee, or helping raise much-needed funds. Volunteers also help us strengthen our services by offering new and creative ideas, special skills, and a genuine concern for the people in our programs and our direction for the future. Why do they do it? As our volunteers know, there are many reasons: • to feel needed and valued • to share expertise and keep skills current • to get to know their community or neighbourhood • to gain leadership skills • to earn academic credit • to build a resume • to make new friends Volunteers formed the foundation of our organization in 1951, and they remain a fundamental part of our structure today. In return, we are committed to giving them worthwhile and challenging opportunities that match their individual
