Why was Cindy Lauper on American idol?
Cyndi Lauper was on American Idol to sing a duet with Allison Iraheta. Each of the top four contestants sang a duet with a celebrity. Kris Allen, the American Idol winner, sang with Keith Urban. Adam Lambert, the runner-up, sang with Kiss. Danny Gokey sang with Lionel Richie. For some reason, Lil Rounds also sang a duet, despite the fact that Matt Giraud, who was eliminated after her, did not. Rounds sang with Queen Latifah and sounded terrible.
