Why was Malcolm x important in the struggle for civil rights?
Malcolm X was the other very well known African-American leader in the Civil Right Movement in the 1960’s other than Dr. King. Instead of Dr. King’s pascifist movement, Malcolm X wanted African-American people to revolt against the whites by any means necessary. He supported the Black Muslim group. He later changed his position and advocated for peaceful coexistance of races. He was later assassinated.
