Why was the Weimar Republic able to survive in the years 1924 – 1929?
Germany’s economy began to revive right around 1922 and by 1924 the Wiemar Republic had achieved a level of stability, people in Germany were begrudgingly starting to accept the notion of democracy and were willing to give it a go. No outstanding leaders emerged but for the most part reasonably efficient competent men seemed to be getting things done. In short, Germany was recovering from the disaster of The Great War, and for a brief moment all seemed to be going well, until the Economic Hell of 1930 fell upon the land.
