Why was Windows NT selected as the server operating system?

0

Although several operating systems were evaluated, we found that Windows NT offered the most secure, robust software which was best suited for running server-type applications. And, Windows NT version 4.0 has several features that work well to enhance ZMS capabilities. What’s special about Windows NT Version 4.0? Windows NT version 4.0 supports Microsoft’s Telephone Application Programming Interface (TAPI) standard. This standard allows ZMS to support any modem that is supported under Windows, and allows us to offer great flexibility to our customers. Also, modem and com port resources can be shared under this system among other applications, so there is no need for a dedicated pool that can only be accessed by ZMS. And finally, this version of Windows NT allows you to share resources with non-Zaurus PDA’s, if necessary, for seamless integration with your E-mail system.
