Greater Glasgow, Argyll & Clyde and Tayside were selected for these pilot projects because they have a high proportion of their population living in areas of severe deprivation (lowest decile of Arbuthnott Index). In Greater Glasgow, almost 40% of the population live in areas of severe deprivation. In Argyll & Clyde and Tayside this figure is just over 10%. All other Boards have less than 10% of their populations living in severely deprived areas.
