Why won FreeOTFE accept my password when supplied via the command line parameter?

If you’re using the “/silent” switch, try removing it and just clicking “OK” on the password dialog to confirm that your password and other details have been entered correctly. If FreeOTFE fails to mount, check your command line parameters carefully. If your password or volume filename have spaces in them, you’ll need to surround them with doublequotes (“). Similarly “%” signs may be interpreted in batch files as batch file variables.
