Why Won My USB Card Reader Recognise A 512MB SD Card?

0

How many other USB devices have you connected to the computer at one time? They may be using too much power so when you attach the SD Card its driver will have a problem. Of course this may not be the case but an easy way to find out would be to just unplug your scanner, printer or both and you should know if it has worked when you plug the card in. Another way to find out if the device is not installing properly is by looking in device manager. To get there click the windows+R keys together and in the Run window type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes. In the Device manager window click the View tab then click Show hidden devices. If theres a problem with the driver it will show a red exclamation mark over the card reader device.
