Why won Nickelodeon put out their old school shows on DVD?

I don’t know for sure, but I suspect they think two things: 1. Adults who watched these shows when they were younger aren’t interested enough in seeing them again to justify DVD releases. 2. Today’s kids want only new stuff. My understanding is that previous Nickelodeon releases didn’t sell very well, so maybe they are correct that there isn’t enough of a market for those DVDs to justify a release. But I participate in several groups that suggest otherwise. There is interest, but it’s hard to tell how much interest, and it’s harder to tell how much people are willing to spend on older kids’ shows. There seems to be one exception to this. If the show was science fiction related, they still tend to sell well. It seems those of us who love sci-fi always remain kids at heart so we’re willing to dish out a lot of money for our favorite old TV shows.
