The most honest answer would be if you want to get a job working for google, it would probably help to learn this language since they use it on some of their products.

I am sure the motivation for most people to learn a new language is one of two things.

1. it has some cool features you want to try out. which you believe will make programming more productive for you.

or

2. there is a demand for programmer who know that particular language.
