As Wiccans, we don’t order our universe into a hostile dualism the way some other religions do. The “battle” between Good and Evil is simply not a Wiccan concept, and getting beyond this idea of Dualism is an important step in a Wiccan’s spiritual growth. We simply believe in cycles, in balance, and in completeness. Night must follow Day, but we don’t call Night “evil” and Day “good.” Our religion honors the whole cycle — Birth, Life, Sex, Death, and Rebirth — every part of that cycle is natural, important, but also challenging. We embrace it all. Now, on the subject of Spirits — Spirits are a lot like people in that some are nicer than others. Some spirits are helpful, some are mischevious, some can be outright dangerous if you don’t handle them propperly, and some just don’t care and would rather be left alone to do their thing. We can generally tell by our intuition, and by how the spirit acts, whether or not it’s one we care to deal with. I’ve also found that the lesser spirits
