Will a darkened skin ever turn back to normal colour?
the reason your skin has gone darker is to protect itself. inside your skin there are special cells making melanin, which is of a dark pigment, and when your skin is exposed to uv light, (sunlight) it will produce melanin which absorbs this uv light, saving it from causing major damage (without it your skin would most likely become aged looking, wrinkled and saggy), its actually pretty neat stuff. But on the other hand your skin needs to absorb vitamin D from the sun, (the only way the body gets its vitamin D supply, very important) and melanin restricts this. Your body must keep all this in order, having enough melanin to keep your skin safe, yet allowing enough vitamin d to be absorbed. to answer your question, yes your skin will go lighter when you leave such a high uv area, and how light it goes will depend on where you are, say if you went to a place where sunlight is quite rare your skin will go very white to be able to absorb enough vitamin D, eg european winter, and staying ind
