He’s only very little, so you don’t have to worry about spraying. Males generally start spraying at 9 months of age if left entire, but it’s unlikely for a neutered male to spray. If a male starts ‘spraying’ you should look into it, as you’ll probably find that he isn’t actually spraying, but is suffering from stress or a UTI. If a neutered male sprays, I would suggest taking him to the vet… Because your little one is so young, you can teach him to not scratch the furniture. Get him a scratching post and encourage him to use it. Perhaps by rubbing catnip on it, or by ‘scratching’ it yourself, as a method of encouragement… If he does scratch your furniture -or carpet- sternly say ‘no!’ and gently move him away. This is a far better method to deterring scratching than physcial discipline, physcial discipline is cruel, and emotionally traumatising for a cat.
