However, discount fares to popular destinations over Christmas typically sell out many months in advance. Airlines don’t have to stimulate demand for travel over holidays. In fact, they often raise prices for those days. It’s possible that you’ll see some seat sales for travel after the holidays. Traffic often slows down after New Years and that is certainly possible with the economy being so bad.
