Will Beyonce, Jazmine and Keri Make BET Awards Ladies Night ? In just three days the BET Awards 09′ will go down in Los Angeles but, the real battle during this year’s show will be between R&B/Pop’s leading women. Five chart-topping ladies, including Beyonce, are vying for Best Female Artist ! In addition to Beyonce, Keri Hilson, Keyshia Cole, Jazmine Sullivan and Jennifer Hudson are nominated for the award, which was given to Alicia Keys in 2008. Due to the fact that each of the nominees has done very well over the last year it is hard to predict which ‘it’ girl will take home the award. The hit singles between these women, alone, are staggering.
Beyonce was the big winner at Sunday night’s anticipated BET Awards 09′. Taking place at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium, the BET Awards 09′ celebrated not only accomplishments in film, sports and music but, also the life of Michael Jackson. In addition to performances from Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx, GUY, Tevin Campbell, Maxwell, Trey Songz, Ciara, Keri Hilson, Monica and Keyshia Cole, the BET Awards 09′ gave Beyonce two trophies. Winning for both Video of the Year (“Single Ladies [Put A Ring on It]”) and Best R&B Female Artist, Beyonce thanked fans and the late Michael Jackson before being seated for her husband, Jay-Z’s anticipated performance. Other notable winners are Keri Hilson (Best New Artist), Jamie Foxx (Best Collaboration) and Day 26 (Best Group).
