Will buy a laptop with the following specs mainly for movie HD editing… Is this laptop OK?
If you want to do good movie editing I’d get a desktop but since everyone wants to carry around their computer so they can damage it , here my suggestions. 1: Make sure your external HD is 7200 RPM’s the faster the data gets to the HD the better. If you were getting a Desktop to do Movie editing you could get a drive that spins at 15,000 RPM’s! 2: If you have the ability to get a good video card like the GeForce 8600 GT or GeForce 8800GTS but since those cards are thicker than a laptop I doubt they’d fit. 3: Your idea to go 4 GB Ram and wanting it to be @ 800 mhz is right on doing HD video editing. If you want a toy to play Video editing you could get a laptop, but then you might as well buy a Mac. If you want a serious machine to do a professional job of video editing get a Desktop. www.ibuypower.
