Will composting worms live in the garden?

0

Composting worms can live in the garden as long as there is enough rotting vegetation (like leaves) on top of the soil. This type of worm doesn’t burrow deep like a night crawler does but rather feeds on the surface. They can live in a range of temperatures but they thrive at 60-70 degrees so although they can live in your garden, they may not thrive in northern latitudes or in areas that are constantly out of this temperature range. I keep these worms in bins inside my closet and make compost all winter long. I learned everything I know about these cool critters by reading the popular ebook called Composting for Profit. I am pretty sure this book is still out there. It was at http://www.compostingforprofit.com I hope that answers your question.
