No. Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opiate derived from the naturally occurring opioids, codeine and thebaine. Heroin (diacetylmorphine) is a semi-synthetic opiate derived from the naturally occurring opioid morphine. Neither drug my be detected on a drug test unless a specific test for either hydrocodone or diacetylmorphine is part of the drug test. However heroin will almost certainly be detected as an “opioid” because it breaks down to morphine, the primary drug tested for. Heroin also breaks down into 6-monoacetylmorphine, a metabolite only occurring from heroin. Thus, the presence of 6-monoacetylmorphine will indicate that heroin was used, not another drug. So if heroin was used it will always be detected, but it might not be known if it was heroin.
