Will Hyenas evolve into something new?
Evolution is defined as a change in frequency of specific alleles within a population, so basically every species in the world is in a constant state of evolution. As for evolving into a distinct species, I would theorize that it is unlikely due to the fact that the Hyenidae family has dwindled down to only four species since the end of the Pleistocene. If major conservation efforts were made you may see new species of Heyna popping up in a few million years, but changing from Hyenidae to an entirely new family would probably take tens of millions of years.
