Will my credits transfer from Devry University to Florida Atlantic University and which courses does FAU take?
I can’t answer specifically, but I can give you some general information. Transfer policies differ widely. In Florida, they have a state-wide course numbering system, and so if you were transferring from one public community college or university to another, you’d know for certain which courses would transfer–probably all of them. But if memory serves, DeVry is a private school; that takes them out of the state course transfer policy. In that case, the university you’re transferring to will have the privilege of assessing your transcript from DeVry. If the FAU transfer coordinators smile upon you, they’ll accept all your credits. If they would instead prefer to get as much tuition from you as possible, they may reject all of them. Once I was advised that it’s a good idea to take your transcript in for evaluation every year if they don’t accept all your credits at first; eventually maybe they’ll change their minds (and once they accept a course, they will not go back and rescind it).
