Paintballs have a pretty hard plastic shell. If you were to catapult them onto something hard they would most likely break, but the catapult would need some serious force to break against soft skin or even clothes. Catapults generally lob objects high in the air for the distance factor, after that the object only has gravity to provide any force, as opposed to those guns, which are pretty powerful not merely for distance sake but to ensure an effective paintball rupture. If you were aiming the catapult at some kind of bullseye target, like a wooden board, then yeah it might just work.  more
