Will red weapons be measured by a giant guy smashing red weapons into the back of tiny guy with massive baseball bat swings to determine safety?
This is not a trend that is consistent with the spirit of proper weapons checking. As a way to alleviate this issue, we will require ALL red weapon checkers to both GIVE and RECEIVE red hits. We will also request that medium to larger individuals GIVE and RECEIVE the red hits. If an inordinate number of red weapons are failing on a given day, a hard look will be made by the weapons checkers to see if the PROCESS and not the WEAPONS is possibly faulty. However, we recognize that red weapons remain one of the most potentially hazardous weapons on the field, and will take diligent care to ensure that only safe equipment passes.
