Will the 21 st Century School (High Tech) affect the Amish community and their ability to be successful at ND?
Many of the 21 st Century Learning Skills align with the Amish traditions and customs. Amish place a high value on teamwork, collaboration, trust, respect, responsibility, and communication. The model of learning that ND would move towards is based upon Standards-based Project-Based Learning. This will require groups to complete a project while meeting individual and group goals and objectives along the way. North Daviess understands and respects the Amish traditions and culture and will continue to work with the Amish community to allow ALL of our students to leave ND as productive citizens.
