as- is means as-is. maybe the bank will offer you a credit for the repair, but probably not. They all are different and the only way you will know is to ask. But no, they don’t have to fix it to sell it. I just closed on a bank owned home last week, and in doing the final walk through the day before we found someone had broken into the home and stolen a wall to wall carpet. The bank refused to do anything about it. this was a $107,000 home and they wouldn’t even give a $100 credit toward a new carpet.
