Will the heather shrub grow very tall and spread everywhere quickly?
Heathers are generally fairly short plants, growing to a maximum on average of a couple of feet in height. Depending on the type of heather, some are larger and spread more than others. The main species are Erica or Calluna, and these have somewhat different characteristics, as well as each of them flowering at different periods of the year. They’re best planted in small groups, say of 3 or 5, that can grow together, forming large interlocking clumps, after a year or so. If you’re looking for a really tall shrub, Heathers are probably not the plants for you, as they tend to be dwarf and more compact than many other types of plants. Hope this helps. Good luck!
