Will the property be reassessed if it passes to the decedent’s child(ren)?

Yes. However, if all or some of the property is passing to the decedent’s child(ren), the decedent’s child(ren) may qualify for a reassessment exclusion. In order to qualify, a Claim for Reassessment Exclusion for Transfer between Parent and Child (Own-188) must be filed with our office. Click on Reassessment Exclusion for Real Property Transfers Between Parent and Child for more details.
