Will water conditioners that contain EDTA as a chelating agent affect the performance of the IonGen?
Yes, any water containing EDTA will not let the copper ions to perform properly as it will attract copper ions to form a complex metal- EDTA chelate and leaving no free flowing copper ions in water system. EDTA is a colorless, water-soluble solid used widely to dissolve scale. Its usefulness arise because of it is role as a chelating agent (i.e., metal ions such as calcium ions, magnesium, iron and copper ions).
