Thanks to fundraising efforts from local youth sports programs, businesses and new football coach Bob Bancroft, the Titans will be able to afford portable lighting for four of their home games this fall. Pembroke’s home games against Carver, Whitman-Hanson, Hanover and Randolph were all scheduled for Saturday mornings, but all four games have been moved to Friday nights. Only the Thanksgiving Day game against Silver Lake will still be played during the day. “Friday nights are a big attraction,” Bancroft said. “I was at Whitman-Hanson when they put up their lights, and you could just see the change. If we play at night, people can come out.” Bancroft approached athletic director Bill Fallon about getting the portable, battery-operated lights for the home games this season, and the two worked out a compromise in which Bancroft had to find $1,000 in spons
