Windows displays “mouse not detected” message on boot up and will not finish loading Windows. How can I resolve this?

This error will display for the following reasons: 1) your computer’s BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) is configured to query the PS/2 port to detect an input device during the Microsoft Windows startup sequence; 2) there is no pointing device connected to the PS/2 port in your computer. To resolve this issue, disable the option to query the PS/2 port in your computer’s BIOS. Or enable the USB Legacy support (if a built in) within your BIOS. For information about how to do this, consult the documentation provided with your computer, or contact your computer manufacturer. Otherwise you may have to leave your PS/2 mouse/keyboard connected.
