With six conference losses, can Washington make the Tournament?
Up until last weekend, the Huskies had been anything but impresive. Washington had only one notable nonconference win in its 16-point victory over LSU. Other than that, the Huskies have been a shameful disappointment, losing to Gonzaga on Dec. 9 by 20, then dropping six of seven games to start Pac-10 play, three of those by 17 points or more. But no matter, with a shocking 89-77 upset over then-No. 7 Oregon, Washington is finally beginning to somewhat resemble the top-10, NCAA Sweet Sixteen team it was last year. It was a legitimate win for the Huskies, who hung with one of the fastest offenses in the nation (though it’s important to add that the Ducks were without Pac-10 leading scorer Aaron Brooks). The end of January is a little late into the season to finally be playing up to form. The Huskies are now 13-7 overall, and 3-6 in the Pac-10.
