Dark colors will have a tendancy to make a room look smaller. Instead of painting the whole room that color, you might try just having the Headboard wall be an Accent wall. Paint the other walls a lighter color (one that goes with your purple). One more thing – colors have an affect on your moods. Darker colors tend to put you in a sullen mood and I am not sure you want to do that in the bedroom!

I use to have my room painted a very deep purple on one wall, but I balanced it out with white accents and I painted the other walls a very pale green. I loved the dark purple and it didn’t look to dark in my room.

I think that sounds fine. The deep purple would look gorgeous with the silver metal bed. The room might look bigger with a dark wall. If you don’t like it, you could always change it, it’s just paint!

I don’t think so you should be fine. As long as your accessories match the dark purple. The accents in the room should always match the wall color.
