Most of the problems you have heard about are in the border towns, because of the drug dealers who take drugs into the US. Small towns in Mexico, such as the charming colonial cities in the center, are quite safe if you’re careful with your belongings.  Tourist areas like Cancun are generally safe.

I recently visited Puebla and I didn’t experience any security issues in this city. I think all these problems are greatly exaggerated. I stayed at this luxury hotels in Puebla, had a great walk around the city center and enjoyed a great view of the volcano. If you are planning a trip to Mexico, do it!

Most of the bad things you hear about Mexico in the news aren’t effecting you as a tourist. You have to be part of the Mexican drugscene to get to know a Narco….
Mexico’s tourism industry is growing really fast, more and more people from all over the world discovering the beauty of Mexico. In 2016 more than 35 Mio. international guests arrived. Besides the good job of the Mexican tourism industry it’s also because it’s safe. If you are careful with your belongings and avoid the non touristical areas like in the north part of the country, nothing will happen and you will enjoy an awesome time.
