Answer Michael, Very good question and the answer will apply to all optical devices, coatings and materials. There is a good better best at every optical retailer, but the best at one retailer may be the one offered as good or even considered not good enough to offer, at another retailer. As for UV400, you would not feel or see a difference if it had it or not and the fact that it is tinted and made from the common materials used today means that pretty much everything filters UV up to about 340-360 or more depending on the tint. Polarized lenses can be very cheaply made and offer little benefit over an un-polarized more darkly tinted lens, however a good polarized lens in a good material, cant be beat for glare reduction. Tints address brightness. A true polarized lens reduces light transition by fifty percent and as a result is gray.
