Would that remove Texas from consideration for the BCS national championship?
“I’ve made this criteria a long time ago that you have to win your conference to play for a national championship. Just like if Alabama is undefeated and loses to Florida or Georgia in the SEC championship game, I don’t think you can put the runner-up in the BCS title game. The thing about Texas Tech, I’m a huge Mike Leach fan and I love watching them play. But they are playing some defense now. You still sort of believe they can’t do it against Texas or Oklahoma when it counts.” Q: Which team’s fans do you hear the most from about your picks? “I really don’t. I haven’t gotten a whole lot of feedback on my picks. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. Normally I hear from Big Ten people like crazy.” Q: Doug says he hears a lot from local fans about his Alabama picks. “It just means I’m right and people know it.” Thanks to Doug and Ray for joining our weekly Q&A.
