Okay, first of all, I wouldn’t hire a psychiatrist as a counselor because I find it’s hard to teach people who are drugged to the gills. Kids on prozac or ritalin are worse than kids on crack. Second, I probably wouldn’t WANT to hire someone who was a psych patient. For one thing, they are probably in the mindset that those drugs do something other than destroy people and drive them to senseless, random violence (such as the Columbine Massacre, the Omaha Massacre, the Virginia Tech shooting, all of which involved psychiatric drugs). Secondly, how can you expect them to deal with and handle OTHER people’s problems when they can’t even handle their own without a chemical f***ing up their mind? The main reason I wouldn’t hire someone that had those diseases is not actually the fact that they have those “diseases”–I couldn’t care less, especially since psychiatric disorders are utterly unproven and akin to saying “his nose turns red when it’s cold out; must be an illness. Have a drug.” Th
