Your solowork has been critically acclaimed during the past couple of years, but whats actually the background to that?
I’ve played music live for 30 years. Mostly creatively so. With both known and lesser known players. What’s best documented however, apart from my recent solo CD ‘s, is probably that I was introduced on the New York scene alongside some really great musicians in ’94, as a part of an innovative circuit noted for substantially contributing to creative music of our time. It sure didn’t happen overnight, has definitely been a community thing all along, and no single person’s work alone. And anything I do I regard as a result of all of that.
