0w40 is thicker then 5w30 once warmed up 5 is the winter or cold number and the 40 or 30 is the hot number (100*C) higher the number thicker the oil is (viscosity) I run 0w40 MOTUL E-Tech a Group IV and V synthetic blend, M1 is a group IV synthetic
