What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a particular way of paying attention. It is an intentional effort to view things as they are in the present moment. This is done with certain attitudes of mind, such as acceptance and non-judging, and for the sole purpose of understanding. It is more a way of being, then it is a technique. Q: WHAT IS STRESS? A: Stress is as much a part of life as breathing. If you are alive you are experiencing stress. Stress is synonymous with pressure and tension. It is a response to both internal and external events. Stress is experienced physically, emotionally as well as cognitively. There are two types of stress, Distress and Eustress. Eustrsess is a healthy stress. It is stress that results out of aspiring for goals with balance. Eustress is associated with longevity and increased health. Distress, on the other hand, is an unhealthy stress.
