Something’s been on my mind and I figured maybe someone here knows more about this. The other day I was driving through a rural area and saw a car pulled over, hazard lights on, and sadly there was a dog lying on the side of the road. Looked like it had been hit. It got me thinking — what are you actually supposed to do if you hit an animal or see one injured in an accident?
I mean, obviously you’d try to help the animal, but what about the legal side? Do you have to report it? And who’s responsible for covering any vet bills or damages? Never been in that situation myself but I’d rather be prepared in case it happens.
